Mr Bijan Ansari Mohabadin

Mr Bijan Ansari is a Consultant Specialist Breast Surgeon with more than 16 years’ experience as a substantive NHS consultant. Trained in leading breast surgery centres in both the UK and the USA, he specialises in the assessment and treatment of breast symptoms, including breast cancer and benign breast conditions. He has a particular interest in oncoplastic breast surgery. While effective cancer treatment remains his outmost priority, he uses reconstructive techniques, where appropriate, to help preserve the shape and appearance of the  breast.

He provides sufficient time during consultations for patients to discuss their concerns, ask questions and fully understand the results of any investigations and the treatment options available to them. As a core member of the Rivers Hospital Breast Multidisciplinary Team, he works closely with specialist colleagues to ensure that treatment recommendations are tailored to each patient and based on current best practice.

Mr Ansari completed his specialist surgical training in the UK, gaining experience across major teaching hospitals before being awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). He passed the United States Medical Licensing Examinations and was selected for, and completed, a highly competitive 12-month Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, USA, accredited by the Society of Surgical Oncology.

In addition to his clinical training, Mr Ansari was awarded a PhD in Histopathology by the University of London. He has published research in high-impact peer-reviewed medical journals and has presented his work at international scientific meetings. He was also awarded a Clinical Scholar Award by the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium in recognition of his work.
