Miss Salena Bains

Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon Salena Bains practises at the Priory Hospital, The Harborne Hospital and House of Health in Birmingham, where she provides comprehensive care to patients with various breast conditions.

With extensive expertise in managing both breast cancer and benign breast conditions, Miss Bains specialises in oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery, along with sarcoma management. She also has specialised training in delivering electrochemotherapy, further enhancing her capabilities in treating these conditions.

Having undergone specialised training in oncoplastic breast surgery and serving as a national oncoplastic fellow, Miss Bains brings a wealth of experience to her role as a consultant. Currently, she holds key positions as the breast cancer clinical lead at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Miss Bains is deeply committed to advancing surgical research in breast cancer. Her extensive background in this area includes collaborating closely with the University of Birmingham, where she has been involved in local and national trials. Her contributions to breast cancer research have earned her a PhD from King's College London. She has also presented her findings at various national and international conferences and has published numerous papers on the subject.

Recognising the importance of medical education, Miss Bains actively engages in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Birmingham. Additionally, she serves as a Personal Academic Tutor for medical students in their third through fifth years.
