Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon Salena Bains is based at the Priory Hospital, Birmingham, where she sees patients with a range of conditions.

She is an expert in managing breast cancer and benign breast conditions and has a particular interest in oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as sarcoma management. Additionally, she has specialist training and experience delivering electrochemotherapy.

Miss Bains has specialised in oncoplastic breast surgery and was a national oncoplastic fellow for a year before her appointment as a consultant. She is currently the breast cancer lead, breast MDT lead and clinical lead at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

Miss Bains is devoted to her work as a surgeon and researcher, with many years of experience in both local and national trials. She also has an extensive background in breast cancer research, collaborating closely with the University of Birmingham. In addition to being awarded a PhD from King's College London for her research in this field, she has given numerous presentations at national and international conferences and published several papers on the subject.

Furthermore, she is passionate about medical education and takes an active role in teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates at the University of Birmingham (UoB). Additionally, she serves as a Personal Academic Tutor for UoB students studying medicine in their third through fifth years.
