Dr Babatunde Campbell

Dr Babatunde Campbell is a highly accomplished Consultant General Surgeon and Consultant Transplant Surgeon who specialises in renal and pancreatic transplantation, as well as vascular access surgery. With a career dedicated to surgical excellence, he provides expert care to both adult and paediatric patients requiring complex surgical interventions. His clinical practice focuses on delivering precise, patient-centred surgical solutions, ensuring that individuals and their families receive the highest standard of care and reassurance throughout their treatment journey.

In his clinical practice, Dr Campbell has a particular interest in urology, dialysis access surgery, and advanced laparoscopic techniques. He is highly skilled in performing minimally invasive procedures, including keyhole surgery for living organ donors, which helps to reduce recovery times and improve patient outcomes. His expertise also extends to hernia surgery, laparotomies, and complex vascular access procedures, such as brachiobasilic fistula transpositions, to support patients undergoing long-term dialysis.

Dr Campbell completed his undergraduate medical training at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, qualifying with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1983. He subsequently undertook postgraduate training in General Surgery at Obafemi Awolowo University, completing this in 1993. To further his expertise, he completed post-fellowship training in renal transplantation in Manchester in 2001 and later earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education from Edge Hill University in 2019. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in General Surgery.
