Mr Anwar Ahmad

Mr. Anwar Ahmad is a consultant Laparoscopic Colorectal & General Surgeon based at Spire Hartswood Hospital.

His particular surgical interest is in minimally invasive surgical techniques, performing laparoscopic and open hernia repairs, surgery for pilonidal sinus, gall bladder surgery, haemorrhoids treatment (including THD), bowel resections for colorectal cancer, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and OGD endoscopies.

He undertook his initial medical training at Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan in 2002. Following this we went on to complete his basic surgical training in Liverpool, UK. Mr. Ahmad developed a particular interest in surgical research, which let him to St Thomas' Hospital in London where he completed a higher degree at Kings College London; adding further to his professional education.

Having completed his basic surgical training in Liverpool, he then went on to pursue his higher surgical training in London (North East Thames rotation) where he was able to work with world-renowned surgeons at tertiary centres in London, giving him the highest quality mentorship and continuing surgical education. After finishing his higher surgical training, he did a post CCT fellowship in robotic surgery at Portsmouth.

Mr. Ahmad has been working in the NHS as a consultant colorectal and general surgeon at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital NHS Trust since April 2018, alongside his private practice.
