My experience of trusting my healthcare to Mr Khoo and the Spire Hartswood hospital for a inguinal hernia repair was excellent. This was the first time I had undergone surgery so I was quite anxious and had lots of questions. Mr Khoo saw me within a week of making contact. He put my mind at ease straight away and made me feel in control of what was going to happen by answering all of my questions and recommending a laparoscopic keyhole mesh repair procedure. I was able to book an appointment for the procedure with him straight-away at a time that was convenient for me. In the run-up to my procedure, I grew increasingly anxious about it, but Mr Khoo was happy to see me again and talk through my anxieties, listened to me, and offered me an alternative Shouldice open stich repair, which addressed my concerns and I decided to proceed with, even though my late change of mind made the hospital lose the the booking for the original procedure. I was not made to feel pressurised or awkward at all. On the morning of my surgery, I was shown to a lovely private room and was seen promptly by Mr Khoo, the anaesthetist and support staff, before being taken down for surgery. All staff I encountered were polite and professional, and Mr Khoo is obviously a very skilled surgeon as my recovery was faster and less uncomfortable than I had expected, needing only to take paracetamol for the first 5 days and able to drive thereafter. I am happy to recommend Mr Khoo and his team. 10/10.

Mr.Khoo has a very calming nature, and was extremely validating during the entire process. He is so very kind, and was able to explain every single question I had, as well as clearly outlined every single process, procedure and answered every single question I had throughout the experience. He also was just friendly, actually held a conversation with me that didn’t just revolve around me health and got to know me a little. He made me feel comfortable from the get go. He really is fantastic and I felt a little sad having to say goodbye at the end of my stay.

From the initial consultation through to my follow-up appointment, Mr Khoo was extremely professional and caring. He was very informative and took the time to answer all of my questions. On the day of my laparoscopic cholecystectomy, he reassured me and helped put me completely at ease. The surgery itself was carried out with great precision, and my recovery was quick with minimal discomfort.

From checking in at Spire Hartswood to leaving later that day my surgery, treatment and care from Mr Khoo was exemplary. Mr Khoo was friendly and informative, making my surgery entirely stress free.
