Dr Ahmed Adlan

Dr Ahmed Adlan is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist who specialises in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Adlan is dedicated to helping individuals understand their cardiac conditions and actively involving them in their own care plans. His clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of general cardiology, with a particular focus on cardiac electrophysiology, heart rhythm problems, and advanced device therapies.

In his clinical practice, Dr Adlan offers expert care for patients experiencing arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, and ectopic beats. He is highly skilled in performing complex catheter ablations to treat these conditions. Additionally, Dr Adlan specialises in the implantation and management of cardiac electrical devices, such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, cardiac monitors, and cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices for heart failure. His commitment to utilising the latest developments in cardiology ensures that patients receive cutting-edge, evidence-based treatments.

Dr Adlan completed his medical education at Barts and the London Medical School, Queen Mary University of London, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2007, having also obtained an intercalated Bachelor of Medical Sciences in 2006. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010 and was awarded a PhD in cardiac physiology from the University of Birmingham in 2016. His advanced training culminated in a Certificate of Completion of Training in 2019. Dr Adlan holds professional accreditations from the British Society of Echocardiography in transthoracic echocardiography and the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners. Alongside his clinical work, he serves as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, contributing significantly to the education of medical students and healthcare professionals.
