His knowledge, confidence and decisiveness were terrific in helping me navigate through a difficult medical problem and come out the other side with a very positive outcome. In particular he looked at an holistic solution involving managing the causes of the problem as well as the problem itself.

My interaction with Mr Barber so far has been consultations regarding my condition and then to have tests to further assess my condition. I have found him to explain my condition clearly and in terms that I can easily understand. He explained the outcome of the tests I have undertaken and recommended an operation that I need to cure my issue. I have happy to continue with Mr Barber for the next phase of my health care.

I found Mr Hussain, to be friendly, courteous and super efficient, with empathy for me, my condition, and the treatment required, making the physical procedure far less daunting than it might otherwise have been. Throughout the process he clearly explained each step in advance and instilled great confidence in his expertise. These steps resolved my problem with suitable medication in a very short period. I wish I'd seen him years ago!

Good bedside manner and very clear explanation

I could not recommend Mr Mokawem enough after the treatment and care he has given me for my scoliosis. Every appointment we had, we are always approached with a reassuring and calm manner, and feeling fully informed on our possible options. We were meant to go ahead with surgery, yet after the Multi-Disciplinary Meeting took place, we were told that in my current position, they should not operate until further investigation had taken place. This just shows how incredible this team is, willing to postpone the surgery as something was not quite adding up. However, after thorough investigation, the surgery went ahead. He always left me choice throughout this process, listing all of the benefits and drawbacks of each stage. I was operated on at the RNOH, and almost every day, Mr Mokawem would come and see me. On around day 3, he came in and asked me if I wanted to stand and go for a short walk. I didn’t as this was one of the days I felt the most sore, but after some time chatting with him, he reassured me and supported me to push myself. I could not be more grateful for Mr Mokawem and his team’s care, and would highly recommend him to anyone! He has been hugely reassuring both to me and my parents.
