Dr Arun Gupta

Dr Arun Gupta is a Specialist Gastroenterologist specialising in general gastroenterology and hepatology surgery. He completed his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 1998 and completed his residency at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

He later completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology at Westmead Hospital and Endoscopy at the Royal North Shore Hospital in New South Wales. He also completed a clinical fellowship in the UK at John Radcliffe Hospital. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010.

In 2015, Dr Gupta was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree for his work surrounding the pathogenesis of irritable bowel disease with Professor FInlay Macrae.

Dr Gupta has a rich history of senior roles, such as his senior role at the Canberra Hospital which he held from 2013 to 2020. At this hospital, he played a large role in improving the quality of care and safety within his department and placed his patients' health as his priority. During his time at the hospital he also mentored junior doctors. Dr Gupta has also held the role of Clinical Lecturer at The Australian National University.

Dr Gupta has expertise in all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology and regularly performs gastroscopies and colonoscopies. He sees patients with all common and complex gastroenterology conditions.
