Mr Vinod Kolimarala

Dr. Vinod Kolimarala, a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, has over 14 years of experience in the field. He received training in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition from King's College Hospital and Southampton Children's Hospital.

Dr. Kolimarala completed his medical degree in 2003, after which he went onto complete specialist grid training in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition from King's College Hospital and Southampton Children's Hospital. Following completion of his high level specialty training, he then started as a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust where he continues to have his NHS practice.

He is also active in research and has presented at national and international meetings, and published in numerous medical journals. Some of his research work includes looking into children with suspected cow's milk protein allergy and food allergies, gut-related problems in children with ADHD and Autism, and abdominal pain in children.

He is an expert in the management of gut-related symptoms in children, including abdominal pain, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, rectal bleeding, and weight loss. Dr. Kolimarala's areas of interest include inflammatory bowel disease and gut-associated food allergies.

Other conditions treated by Dr. Kolimarala include gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, coeliac disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, eosinophilic oesophagitis, and gut-associated food allergies. He is also skilled in performing and interpreting pH/impedance studies and endoscopies.

Dr. Vinod Kolimarala is a member of the British, European, and North American Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Societies. He also supervises students from King's College and regularly teaches medical students, paediatric trainees, and allied health professionals.
