Dr Kumar Somasundaram

Dr Kumar Somasundaram is a renowned and respected Consultant Paediatrician in the UK. Practising privately at Nuffield Health and at Maidstone and Tunbridge wells NHS Trust, his extensive experience across all areas of paediatrics enables him to provide the best possible care.

Specialising in general children's health, Dr Somasundaram is experienced in many paediatric fields including cardiology, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and nutrition, neurology and nephrology. He has a special interest in children's allergies and provides immunotherapy services and allergy testing. He provides an in-depth consultation and offers a holistic approach to treatment to avoid unnecessary intervention. He works closely with other healthcare professions including dieticians, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to provide a complete insight into a child's wellbeing. He has a keen interest in medical education and is heavily involved in the training of junior paediatricians, GP's and paediatric nurses. Dr Somasundaram graduated from Tamil Nadu Medical School India with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2000, and a Doctorate in Child Health in 2003, before moving to the UK to continue training in the field of paediatrics in Guys and St Thomas Hospital and Kings College Hospital London.
