About Dr. Dunia Ismail
Dr. Dunia Ismail serves as a Consultant Paediatrician specialising in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital. In her role, she holds the position of clinical lead for the Paediatric Endocrine and Diabetes service, overseeing comprehensive care for young patients with these conditions. Additionally, she leads the MDT Diabetes clinics, facilitating expert virtual diabetes data reviews for all UTD HCL ( Hybrid closed loop) Insulin delivery system analysis.
Having completed her medical training and core Paediatric Specialty training in Europe at the University Hospitals of Palermo, Italy, Dr. Ismail pursued international specialty training in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. She furthered her expertise through a clinical research fellowship at the esteemed Paediatric Centre of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne in 2004. There, she had the privilege of working alongside distinguished experts in the field, including Professor G Werther, Dr. M Zacharin, and Professor F Cameron. During this, Dr. Ismail contributed to the field with the publication of four articles, three of which as the first author.
Subsequently, Dr. Ismail served at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) for four and a half years as a senior clinical fellow under the guidance of world-renowned expert Prof Khalid Hussain. During her time at GOSH, she developed a sub-specialty interest in glucose physiology and Hyperinsulinism, producing several first-author papers on the topic.
Fluent in Italian (her mother tongue), Arabic, and French, Dr. Ismail ensures effective communication with patients in multiple languages. Outside of her professional endeavours, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.

We saw Dr Ismail in Brighton. Absolutely an amazing, lovable doctor with attention to detail. Willing to listen and to work with both mother and child to find answers. First time we felt really heard for something that we have been batling for quite sometime. It has been a very frustrating journey as we felt unheard and cast aside by the NHS, for them everything is normal and my child is just "dramatic". She was very attentive and we could tell she truly cares. I cannot speak highly enough. We are very lucky to have found her.

Great doctor, very knowledgeable, looking at a bigger picture. Very dedicated and spending as much time as required, not rushing things but gather full information about the patient. Dr Dunia can explain very well the dependencies, tests needed and what to expect once the results are back. She has also an up to date knowledge on nutrition and quick changes that will made a difference, even in a life of a family as busy as ours. I can't recommend Dr Ismail enough. Thank you!
Dr Ismaill is a wonderful doctor. Very good bedside manner and instantly made my daughter feel at ease. Explained this with care and consideration and was very patient and understanding when my daughter got upset.
