Ms Uzma Ghaffar

Ms Uzma Ghaffar is an accomplished Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care across a broad spectrum of women’s health concerns. She specialises in benign gynaecology and minimal access surgery, offering modern diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for pelvic pain, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and heavy menstrual bleeding. Ms Ghaffar is dedicated to offering objective, clear, and reassuring guidance, ensuring every patient feels fully informed and supported throughout their care journey.

In her clinical practice, Ms Ghaffar performs both advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) procedures and open surgical treatments. Her clinical interests encompass keyhole total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, hysteroscopy, and endometrial ablation. She also provides expertise in pelvic floor repair surgery, chronic pelvic pain management, sexual medicine, and reproductive healthcare, creating personalised treatment plans tailored to each woman's unique health priorities.

Ms Ghaffar earned her primary medical degree (MBBS) and completed her postgraduate specialty training in gynaecology with the West Yorkshire Deanery, achieving specialist qualification in 2018. She holds a Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH, 2016) as well as an advanced Diploma in Gynaecological Endoscopy from Germany (2017). She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), the General Medical Council, and the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy. Dedicated to advancing medical education, she also serves as a Training Programme Director for laparoscopy simulation and as a Royal College Tutor.
