Ms Tereze Laing

Ms Tereze Laing specialises in plastic surgery, with particular expertise in hand and wrist surgery, trauma reconstruction and peripheral nerve surgery. Her clinical interests include hand arthritis, paediatric hand conditions and the treatment of severe injuries involving the hands and soft tissues. She also diagnoses and treats benign and malignant skin conditions, including skin cancer. Ms Laing sees adults and children from the age of four.

Her surgical expertise encompasses carpal tunnel release, cubital tunnel release, trigger finger release, Dupuytren's fasciectomy and trapeziectomy. She also performs peripheral nerve surgery, skin cancer surgery, mole and skin lesion removal, excisional biopsies and skin grafting. Her work in trauma reconstruction focuses on restoring function and mobility following significant injuries.

Research and surgical education are important aspects of Ms Laing's professional activities. She has contributed to national clinical trials and audits and published research covering hand surgery, peripheral nerve conditions, reconstructive surgery and wound healing. As a recognised trainer for hand surgery fellows of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, she is involved in surgical education and serves on the society's education and training committee.
