About Mr Sivan Sivaloganathan
Mr Sivan Sivaloganathan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in robotic knee surgery. He has particular expertise in complex and robot-assisted knee replacement surgery, including partial and total knee arthroplasty. His practice also encompasses knee pain management, early knee arthritis, knee arthroscopy and meniscal surgery.
After studying medicine at Imperial College London, Mr Sivaloganathan served with the British Army as a Medical Officer. During an operational tour in Afghanistan, he was awarded the Herrick Medal with Clasp and the NATO Medal. He subsequently completed an MSc in Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine at University College London.
His orthopaedic training took place in Southwest London, followed by fellowships at the Complex Hip and Knee Unit in Montreal, Canada, and in robot-assisted complex knee surgery and complex trauma at Imperial College Healthcare Trust.
A particular area of interest is personalised knee replacement surgery. His research focuses on preserving native knee alignment to give patients a more natural feeling of the knee following surgery. Mr Sivaloganathan has been invited as faculty to international symposiums and as an expert speaker across the globe, contributing to the development of robot-assisted surgery and personalised knee replacement.
As a member of the global Visiting Surgeon Programme, Mr Sivaloganathan is observed by surgeons from around the world who visit to learn from his operative techniques in robotic surgery.

Mr Sivaloganathan has been a been a breath of fresh air when dealing with a longstanding problem with my knee. He understood the impact it was having on my life and quickly came up with a plan to replace my knee. He explained his proposed treatment in a way that gave me a full understanding of the procedure and allowed me to make an informed to decision to proceed with the surgery.
I visited Mr Sivaloganathan to see if I could have a knee replacement. Mr Sivaloganathan was great- kind, thorough and patient.
Mr Sivaloganathan was so friendly and took extra time to explain treatment options to my wife so that we could go away and think everything over together. I am looking forward to starting treatment.
Mr Sivaloganathan operated on my left knee in January ‘25. He is friendly, respectful and has the ability to explain complicated technical procedures in straightforward layman’s terms. My reviews have been with Mr S himself and I am recovering well. My right knee will also need surgery and I am confident that I will have the same successful outcome.
He has been an absolute legend throughout the whole process. My knee is transformed and the whole experience has been a real joy. It has been a pleasure to go on this journey with him.
