Dr Simon Whiteoak

Dr Simon Whiteoak is a Consultant Gastroenterologist dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing digestive health conditions. With broad expertise spanning gastroenterology and general internal medicine, he focuses on forming supportive, long-term partnerships with his patients to manage chronic conditions effectively. Dr Whiteoak serves as a Lead Consultant for inflammatory bowel disease services, working closely alongside multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure cohesive, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

His areas of clinical focus encompass inflammatory bowel disease, complex nutrition, and broader digestive tract disorders. Dr Whiteoak has a particular interest in managing chronic gastrointestinal conditions such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as addressing complex nutritional needs. In addition, he performs key diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including the insertion of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tubes, to support patient health and long-term wellbeing.

Dr Whiteoak holds a Bachelor of Medicine degree and completed advanced doctoral research to earn a PhD, alongside achieving Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. He attained full medical registration in 2004 and completed specialist registration in gastroenterology and general medicine in 2018. To remain at the forefront of clinical practice and research, he maintains active professional memberships with the Royal College of Physicians, the British Society of Gastroenterology, the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation, the Medical Protection Society, and the General Medical Council.
