Dr Simon Freeman

Dr Simon Freeman is a highly regarded Consultant ENT Surgeon and Consultant Otologist who provides expert surgical and medical care for patients with complex ear, nose, and throat conditions. Specialising in otology, neurotology, and skull base surgery, he offers comprehensive care tailored to both paediatric and adult patients. Dr Freeman is dedicated to delivering reassuring, patient-centred care that prioritises clear communication, thorough evaluation, and individualised treatment pathways.

Dr Freeman completed his medical education at the University of Manchester, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB), alongside a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc Hons) and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil). He completed higher surgical training in Otolaryngology, followed by advanced clinical fellowships in Otology, Neurotology, Cochlear Implantation, and Skull Base Surgery. He holds Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (FRCS (ORL-HNS)) and was appointed as a Consultant in 2009.

In clinical practice, Dr Freeman focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of complex ear conditions, hearing loss, and balance disorders. His surgical expertise encompasses auditory implantation, including cochlear implants and auditory brainstem implants, alongside lateral skull base surgery and treatments for NF2-related schwannomatosis. He also maintains a dedicated clinical interest in facial palsy management, vestibular function assessment, and hearing rehabilitation.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Freeman actively contributes to academic research and medical education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal publications and book chapters in the fields of otology and neurotology, and regularly presents his findings at national and international conferences. Working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams, Dr Freeman strives to deliver optimal clinical outcomes and improve quality of life for all his patients.
