Dr. Shiv Bhutani

Dr. Shiv Bhutani is a highly accomplished Consultant Renal Physician and Consultant Nephrologist who specialises in Renal Medicine. With a dedicated focus on kidney health, he provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of renal conditions. His clinical expertise spans the diagnosis and management of chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and complex transplant medicine. Dr. Bhutani is committed to delivering patient-centred care, ensuring that individuals receive reassuring, evidence-based treatment pathways tailored to their unique health needs.

Dr. Bhutani began his medical education by earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2004. He went on to complete his Specialty Training in Medicine, achieving Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2010. He subsequently undertook intensive Higher Specialty Training in Renal Medicine, obtaining his MRCP in Nephrology in 2013 and completing his training as a Specialist in 2014. Furthering his academic and clinical expertise, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2021. In 2023, he also completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Transfusion and Transplantation Science. Dr. Bhutani is an active member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the European Society of Transplantation.

In addition to his general nephrology practice, Dr. Bhutani has a profound interest in renal transplantation and transfusion science, having served as a clinical Transplant Lead. His clinical work is heavily informed by his research into transplant outcomes, including the clinical relevance of antibodies in kidney transplantation and the management of post-transplant viral infections.
