Dr Shimma Rahman

Dr Shimma Rahman is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in women's reproductive health and maternity services. She focuses on providing holistic care during pregnancy, supporting women through both low-risk and complex pregnancies. Her clinical practice centres on delivering individualised care plans that prioritise patient safety and well-being at every stage of pregnancy and childbirth.

With a strong clinical focus on maternal medicine and high-risk obstetrics, Dr Rahman possesses particular expertise in managing pre-existing medical conditions during pregnancy, including diabetes and renal disease. In addition to her clinical work, she is actively involved in medical education, with a specific interest in human factors in healthcare training to continuously improve patient safety standards and clinical communication.

Dr Rahman completed her undergraduate medical education at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS). She then completed her specialist postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the North West deanery, where she gained advanced skills in maternal medicine and high-risk obstetric care. She is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG).

Dr Rahman works collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure that every patient receives reassuring, evidence-based care tailored to their unique medical requirements. Through clear communication and a patient-centred approach, she aims to ensure women feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey.
