Dr Sarah Duff

Dr Sarah Duff is an accomplished Consultant General Surgeon and Consultant Colorectal Surgeon who provides compassionate, high-quality clinical care to her patients. Her clinical practice encompasses the comprehensive diagnosis and management of a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions and lower gastrointestinal disorders. Emphasising a reassuring, patient-focused approach, Dr Duff works closely with each patient to explain treatment options clearly and deliver tailored care plans that support optimal health outcomes.

Her expertise covers key areas of general and colorectal care, including the surgical treatment of bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, and proctology conditions such as rectal bleeding. Dr Duff is proficient in advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic colorectal resections and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. She also possesses extensive experience in emergency general surgery, routinely delivering expert interventions for both acute and complex conditions.

Dr Duff completed her undergraduate medical education at the University of Oxford, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BM BCh) in 1994. She underwent rigorous postgraduate surgical training and conducted specialised research in surgical oncology, earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2004. In 2008, she obtained her Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in General Surgery, followed by a dedicated fellowship in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and an active member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland.

In addition to her surgical practice, Dr Duff is deeply involved in surgical research, clinical audit, and training. She has held notable leadership positions, including serving as a Clinical Director for regional cancer pathway boards.
