Mr Samendra N Roy

Mr. Samendra N Roy is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with expertise in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. He performs a wide range of major and minor gynaecological procedures for non-cancerous conditions, including reversal of sterilisation, endometrial ablation, and minimally invasive treatments to manage menstrual disorders and other gynaecological concerns.

With over a decade of postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across India and the UK, Mr. Roy has gained extensive experience in gynaecological endoscopic surgery. His advanced training was completed at prestigious UK centres, including Gateshead and Guildford, where he honed his skills in minimally invasive procedures to offer safer, more effective, and faster recovery options for his patients.

Mr. Roy was one of the first in the UK to introduce radio frequency energy for endometrial ablation under local anaesthetic as an outpatient procedure at the University Hospital of Hartlepool. This innovation has significantly improved patient experience by reducing recovery times and eliminating the need for general anaesthesia.

Mr. Roy is an active member of several professional bodies, including the British Medical Association, British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy, European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy, and the British International Doctors Association. His commitment to patient-centred care, innovative treatments, and ongoing professional development ensures he remains at the forefront of gynaecological practice. He is the Lead of the North Tees and Hartlepool Enddometriosis Centre (annually acredited by BSGE since 2016) and Regional Trans-cervical Fibroid Ablation (TFA) centre in Hartlepool Hospital.
