Facilities
Woodlands Hospital has 38 beds. Each en-suite room is fitted with a remote controlled flat-screen television with an inbuilt entertainment system, and the provision to play CDs and DVDs. Internet access is available free of charge.
We offer an extensive range of inpatient / daycase (short stay) and outpatient services. These are supported by over 60 experienced consultants, with a number goading teaching and training for fellow consultants in their field. We provide the very highest standards of modern medical care, and we are BUPA accredited for our breast care services.
All the staff here at Woodlands Hospital are committed to ensuring you are confident and comfortable with every aspect of your visit. Our matron is on hand to address any concerns you may have, and we have resident medical officers available 24 hours a day.
Outpatients Department
Our dynamic outpatients department covers a wide range of specialities, many of which are able to be provided as a same day investigation or procedure and/or one-stop clinic. These include: Breast Care, ENT, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Cosmetic procedures and General surgery. Additionally, a clinical treatment room is used for minor operative procedures, wound care clinics and nurse-led clinics.
Ambulatory Care (Surgical Day Case Unit)
A surgical day case is a patient who is admitted for an operation on a planned non-resident basis who still requires facilities for recovery. The whole procedure should not require an overnight stay in a hospital bed.
Day surgery poses the least possible disruptions to the everyday life of the patient as they return home the same day as the surgical procedure.
Advantages of day surgery include shortening the separation time from family members, diminished anxiety, and the possibility of recovery in a familiar setting, as well as:
Catering
A member of the team is always on hand to provide patients with food and refreshments, whilst special light meals are prepared for those patients who have undergone a general anaesthetic.
We are happy to cater for patients and visitors who have special dietary requirements.
Common procedures appropriate for Day Case or Ambulatory Care are routine and common surgical procedures such as surgery for cataracts, hernias, varicose veins, and hand conditions. Although, many more procedures can be performed in Day Case Units if the patients are prepared adequately.

I had orthopaedic surgery at Woodlands Hospital to repair a long standing injury. The pre and post-op consultations with the surgeon were always on time, focussed and efficient. Options and progress was explained well. Being a smaller hospital than the large bustling general hospitals gives a much less stressful atmosphere. Having a private room on the day of the operation was also excellent. Post-op physio was thorough and felt realistic for my particular circumstances.

Over the years that I have used woodlands, the service from staff has always been to a very good standard. I feel that Woodlands would benefit from some work to the day rooms as they are beginning to look run down and could do with some TLC.

Woodlands is such a caring and relaxed environment....like a tentative hotel. From start to finish I was looked after and made to feel confident that I was in the best care possible, which I was.
