Dr Salim Jivanji

Dr Salim Jivanji is a dedicated Consultant Cardiologist and Consultant Congenital Interventional Cardiologist who specialises in the diagnosis and catheter-based management of congenital and structural heart conditions in patients of all ages, from neonates and young children to adults. With a patient-centred ethos, Dr Jivanji focuses on providing clear communication and tailored treatment plans for individuals with heart conditions present from birth. His dual expertise in paediatric cardiology and adult congenital heart disease allows him to deliver seamless, comprehensive care across every stage of a patient's life.

Dr Jivanji earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) alongside an honours degree in Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) from the University of Sheffield. He subsequently undertook residency training in paediatrics in Australia and the United Kingdom, followed by higher specialist subspecialty training in paediatric and congenital cardiology across major London tertiary cardiac centres. He further refined his procedural skills by completing an advanced fellowship in congenital interventional cardiology. Dr Jivanji holds membership with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and maintains active affiliations with the Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology, the Paediatric and Congenital Interventional Cardiovascular Society, and the British Congenital Cardiac Association.

Dr Jivanji's clinical interests encompass advanced, minimally invasive cardiac interventions that offer effective alternatives to open-heart surgery. His procedural expertise includes transcatheter device closures for atrial and ventricular septal defects, balloon aortic and pulmonary valvuloplasty, percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation, and stenting for complex vascular structures such as coarctation of the aorta. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Jivanji is actively involved in cardiovascular research, medical education, and charitable initiatives aimed at advancing congenital cardiac care internationally.
