Dr Russell Peek

Dr Russell Peek is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Neonatologist who provides compassionate and comprehensive care for newborn infants, children, and young people. Practising across both neonatal care units and general paediatric outpatient clinics, Dr Peek manages a diverse range of childhood conditions and early developmental challenges. His clinical philosophy centres on delivering reassuring, family-focused care that ensures parents and guardians feel informed and supported at every stage of their child's health journey.

Within his clinical practice, Dr Peek maintains a strong interest in neonatal medicine, infant nutrition, and early childhood growth. He routinely assists families with complex early-life health issues, including faltering growth and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, applying evidence-based strategies to optimise health and development. Beyond his direct clinical responsibilities, Dr Peek plays an active role in medical education, supporting the training of future healthcare professionals and researching the impacts of stress and uncertainty on clinical performance and learner wellbeing.

Dr Peek began his medical career in Scotland, graduating with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Neuroscience as well as a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours in 1997. He went on to expand his academic portfolio by obtaining a Master of Science and a Master of Research. Dedicated to maintaining high professional standards, Dr Peek is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators.
