Dr Rui Gao is a dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across a broad spectrum of digestive health conditions. Recognised for an objective and thorough clinical approach, Dr Gao works closely with individuals to evaluate complex symptoms, establish clear diagnoses, and form clear, evidence-based management plans tailored to each patient's needs.

With expertise across general and specialist digestive health, Dr Gao focuses on the diagnosis and management of conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure, malabsorption, and gastrointestinal dysmotility. In addition to non-surgical condition management, Dr Gao routinely performs essential endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy, to investigate and treat disorders throughout the gastrointestinal tract.

Dr Gao completed formal medical training graduating with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BChir) and Master of Arts (MA) degrees, and subsequently achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP).
