Dr Ron Bhattacharya

Dr Ron Bhattacharya is a highly accomplished Fellowship-Trained Consultant Physician in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine. Dual-certified in Sports and Exercise Medicine as well as General Practice, he is dedicated to helping patients and athletes of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities optimise their physical health and performance. Dr Bhattacharya specialises in the comprehensive management of injuries and illnesses related to sport, work, and daily life, with a particular focus on paediatric and adolescent sports medicine, football medicine, concussion management, and combat sports.

With extensive experience working in elite professional sport, Dr Bhattacharya has managed complex injuries within high-pressure environments. He has served as the Sports Medicine Lead for a prominent Premier League football academy, overseeing medical services across the entire youth development pathway, and has supported first-team players in both men's and women's professional football. Additionally, he has held key medical roles with professional rugby clubs and has provided medical coverage for major sporting events across disciplines such as basketball, cycling, golf, boxing, and judo. In his clinical practice, he works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams of physiotherapists and performance specialists to deliver athlete-centred care that promotes both rapid recovery and long-term physical resilience.

Dr Bhattacharya completed his primary medical training, earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree. He went on to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Bath, where he obtained a Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Medicine, graduating in 2019. Committed to utilising advanced diagnostic techniques, he also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and is highly skilled in performing ultrasound-guided injections. Dr Bhattacharya is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (FFSEM (UK)). Alongside his clinical commitments, he serves as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for specialist doctors in training and is a Visiting Lecturer for postgraduate students at several universities.
