Dr Robert Peters

Dr Robert Peters is a dedicated Consultant Paediatric Surgeon who provides compassionate and comprehensive surgical care for infants, children, and young people. Specialising in diagnosing and managing a wide range of surgical conditions in young patients, he combines advanced techniques with a supportive, family-centred approach. Dr Peters prioritises clear communication and thoughtful treatment planning to ensure children and their parents feel fully reassured throughout every stage of care.

Dr Peters earned his Bachelor of Science with Honours and his Bachelor of Medicine with Honours from the University of Southampton, qualifying in 2004. He subsequently undertook higher surgical training in Paediatric Surgery across the North West region. To broaden his surgical expertise, he completed sub-speciality Fellowships in Adult Thoracic Surgery in Leicester and Paediatric Thoracoscopic Surgery in Birmingham. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Paediatric Surgery, reflecting his high standards of professional competence.

With broad expertise in general paediatric and neonatal procedures, Dr Peters maintains key clinical interests in thoracic surgery, chest wall deformities, and upper gastrointestinal surgery. His practice encompasses keyhole and minimally invasive techniques, including paediatric thoracoscopic procedures, surgery for gastro-oesophageal reflux, and repairs for hiatal and para-oesophageal hernias. In addition, Dr Peters performs complex operations for conditions such as oesophageal atresia, congenital abdominal wall defects, incisional hernias, and paediatric chest disorders.
