About Dr Robert Hone
Robert Hone is a leading ENT consultant surgeon with over 15 years experience. His NHS practice is in East Kent Hospitals and he practises privately accross Kent at One Ashford Hospital, KIMS Hospital, Maidstone and Benenden Hospital.
Mr. Hone is highly experienced and qualifed from the University of London (Guy's Kings & St Thomas' School of Medicine) in 2008. He completed a Batchelor of Science degree in 2005 and attained a distinction for a Master of Surgery in 2015.
Robert Hone offers the highest standard of care and prides himself on always putting his patients first and delivering outstanding care. During consultations, he takes the time to listen to patients' concerns and explore their symptoms, always carrying out a thorough medical history and examination.
Mr. Hone regularly presents academic work at National and International meetings and has had his work published in book chapters, papers, and journals. He is heavily involved in education and is curerntly one of the Foundation Programme Directors for Junior Doctors In East Kent and has been departmental paediactric ENT lead. He is happy to recieve any ENT referral.
Outside of work, he spends time with his family and has a keen interest in sports.

- Neck conditions, including thyroid and parathyroid disease and salivary gland disorders.
- Paediatric ENT conditions, including tonsillitis, ear infection, nasal obstruction, hearing loss and enlarged adenoids.
- Ear conditions, including hearing loss, wax, tinnitus, vertigo and balance disorders.
- Nose conditions, including rhinitis, hayfever, nose bleeds, sinusitis, nasal polyps, nasal blockage, loss of smell and nasal discharge.

Appt on 15th Sept 2026 went well. The conversation and examination was as I expected from a professional. Dr. Hone is getting up to speed with my condition and health issues.
Went for what I thought was a simple problem, turned out to be potentially more serious, Dr Hone was sensitive, kind with his words, and clear on what was going to happen next. Made sure that I had details I needed and was looked after post the appointment with medication etc.
First of all, this is the first time in my life that I showed up and had my meeting before the original time. Fabulous! Meeting was short, friendly, to the point and clear. Well done to the hospital and Mr Hone
I had visited Mr Hone for a cast removal as my ENT surgeon was away. Mr Hone was brilliant right from the start to the end. I was nervous to take my cast and stints off but Mr Hone had calmed my nerves down very quickly. During the process, he ensured I was okay and made everything very quick and painless. Be really did handle everything with great care and professionalism. Mr Hone also took the time to answer any questions I had. Thank you Mr Hone.
After so much pain discomfort it was good to finally get help
Robert was excellent, after attending my local GP and being told there's nothing they can do felt like they'd given up on me. Robert made me feel that he cared about me and it wasn't a lost cause and the are options which gave me a massive boost. I was seen on time and didn't feel I was rush through the appointment.
We were very happy with Mr Hone's caring and professional approach.
