Mr Eugene Omakobia

Mr. Eugene Omakobia is a Consultant Rhinologist and ENT Surgeon at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, where he primarily practices at the William Harvey Hospital and the Kent and Canterbury Hospital. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2009 and completed his higher surgical training in Yorkshire. To further refine his expertise, he pursued an advanced fellowship in Rhinology, anterior skull base, nasal plastic, and reconstructive surgery in Manchester, under the mentorship of the then president of the British Rhinological Society.

Mr. Omakobia’s primary clinical interests lie in nasal and paranasal sinus surgery. His surgical repertoire includes septorhinoplasty (both open and closed approaches), rhinoplasty, navigation-assisted endoscopic sinus surgeries (particularly frontal sinus surgery), septoplasty, and turbinate surgeries. Additionally, he performs routine paediatric ENT procedures such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and grommet insertion.

In addition to his clinical practice, Mr. Omakobia is deeply committed to medical education. He earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education from Leeds University School of Medicine in 2022, achieving a distinction. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators. His teaching contributions include lecturing on nasal and sinus surgery courses in the North of England and training junior colleagues.  

An accomplished academic, Mr. Omakobia has co-authored 34 peer-reviewed publications and delivered numerous presentations at international conferences, earning several accolades for his contributions. He has also contributed data to multi-centre national research projects focused on sinus surgery.
