Dr Richard Harrison

Dr Richard Harrison is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician specialising in comprehensive child healthcare. With an empathetic and child-centred approach, he provides compassionate care tailored to the unique developmental and physical needs of infants, children, and young people. Dr Harrison works closely with families to ensure that young patients receive holistic support, clear guidance, and individualised care plans.

His clinical focus spans several key areas within Community Paediatrics and general child health. Dr Harrison holds a specialist interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly supporting children with Down syndrome, managing complex developmental needs, and addressing paediatric sleep disturbances. Furthermore, he is involved in paediatric palliative medicine, providing thoughtful, coordinated care and support for children with long-term or life-limiting conditions and their families.

Dr Harrison completed his primary medical education, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). He holds membership in the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and contributes to medical education as a College Tutor. Additionally, Dr Harrison serves on the Steering Group of the Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group (DSMIG UK and Ireland), keeping his clinical practice aligned with current research and clinical guidance.
