Mr Ravi Mallina is professional, clear, and reassuring with patients. Patients report excellent results and positive recovery for procedures such as carpal tunnel decompression, wrist denervation, and fracture treatments including scaphoid, clavicle, and wrist. His thorough explanations and successful surgical outcomes are highlighted, along with his high standard of care. Many patients gain relief from various hand and wrist conditions through his expertise.
My experience with Mr Mallina, from the initial consultation through to the operation and aftercare, was first class. I am extremely grateful to have been under his care throughout the process. From the outset, Mr Mallina clearly explained all available treatment options, including both surgical and non-surgical approaches. His thorough and balanced explanation left me with a very positive impression and gave me the confidence to make a prompt and informed decision to proceed with surgery on my thumb. Communication was excellent at every stage of my treatment, and I always felt well informed and reassured. Mr Mallina was approachable, supportive, and provided clear guidance throughout. I am delighted with the outcome of the surgery. My recovery was quick, and the procedure has successfully resolved the problem. I would highly recommend Mr Mallina to anyone seeking expert and compassionate care.
Underwent a procedure for de quervain tensosynoviyis. The whole process was explained in detail. The support during surgery and after care was excellent.
Mr Mallina was professional, attentive and excellent. My issue was diagnosed quickly, and surgery a few days later. Post operation he organised therapy and was very attentive. He was excellent.
I had an assessment done on my wrist after I’ve been suffering in pain for a couple months. Mr. Mallina helped me to take the next steps to treat it.
My procedure has left me pain free and able to return to normal activities feeling stronger and more confident. I felt heard, informed and in good hands throughout. I could not recommend Mr Mallina and his team highly enough.
As a GP myself, I think i am pretty demanding patient and Mr Mallina was brilliant at explaining my wrist problem and make a good plan. He was very nice too!
I highly recommend Mr. Mallina. My ulnar nerve compression symptoms progressed from acute to severe in only 3 months, leading to loss of grip and sensation. Mr. Mallina performed the surgery, finding a second muscle causing the compression at the cubital tunnel. My recovery has been remarkable; at my follow-up, my grip strength and sensation exceeded expectations. He is a reassuring surgeon who explains the 'why' behind symptoms, put you at ease throughout & checks in before and after surgery.
Mr Mallina has a friendly relaxed and positive approach. He explained and demonstrated the remedial exercises needed for my fractured shoulder very clearly.
After some time waiting for an NHS wrist fusion; I decided to have the surgery privately and saw Mr Mallina at Shirley Oaks Hospital. Mr Mallina recommended a wrist denervation as a better option for me than the fusion. It would be a much less invasive procedure, with a quicker recovery time, and it would leave open the possibility of a fusion in the future. I am so glad I accepted his advice. Less than 2 months on from the surgery, I can undertake heavy work in the garden without needing to wear a splint, the surgery scar has virtually disappeared and I am almost pain-free. I couldn't be happier with the service provided by Mr Mallina and his team at Shirley Oaks Hospital.
