Dr. Rajinder Chahal

Dr Raj Chahal is a Consultant Cardiologist with specialist expertise in heart failure diagnosis and management, as well as complex cardiac device implantation. He graduated with a medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Liverpool in 2006 and completed his general cardiology training in the North West of England. He undertook sub-specialty training in heart failure and cardiac devices at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital. Following this, he completed a heart failure fellowship at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth before his appointment as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

Dr Chahal manages a wide range of general cardiology conditions, including breathlessness, chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, and blackouts. He also treats hypertension, high cholesterol, and other cardiovascular risk factors. His sub-specialty focus includes assessment and ongoing care of patients with suspected or confirmed heart failure, using evidence-based therapies to improve outcomes and reduce hospital admissions. He is also experienced in the implantation and follow-up of pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) devices, and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs).
