About Dr Chris Steadman
Dr Steadman graduated from the University of Bristol and stayed in Bristol to complete his MRCP. He moved to Birmingham for specialist training in Cardiology including 4 years at tertiary cardiac centres, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. He also spent 2 and half years as a clinical research fellow for the British Heart Foundation and National Institute for Health Research, at the Leicester Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Unit. He was awared his research degree, Doctor of Medicine (MD), from the Univerity of Leicester. He is also now a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
He is an expert in Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, including CT coronary angiography, cardiac MRI, and all forms of echocardiography (transthoracic, stress, bubble and transoesophageal). He is accredited with national and international societies for these techniques, and was one of the first in the UK to gain Level 3 Accreditation in cardiac MRI from the European Society of Cardiology. He also has Level 3 Accreditation in cardiac CT from the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, and is one of the few specialists to hold this in addition to MRI.
As an imaging specialist he is an expert in diagnosis and sees patients with a wide range of symptoms including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations and blackouts.

Having any sort of problems with your heart is a worry and right from the off I felt completely at ease. His approach is very logical and calming. Despite all the many hundreds of people he has to see you feel looked after. He’s an expert in his field and I was very grateful to have his help.
Had a very informative meeting, Dr Steadman spent time explaining the whys and hows of the tests and results, making me feel comfortable and informed.
Dr Steadman was both professional and a clear communicator. He answered my questions succinctly and clearly. If I needed to see a cardiologist again (hopefully not soon!) I would not hesitate to see him.
Dr Steadman was thorough and caring when investigating my condition.
Had only just sat down when my name was called out. Not to move but to get the room ready by the clinician. Only waited a few more minutes and then went for my procedure. Easiest appointment by far. And the clinician was very approachable yet professional.
