About Miss Rachel Delaney

Ms Rachel Delaney is a Senior Occupational Therapist, specialising in the treatment and rehabilitation of acute injuries and elective surgery to the hand and wrist. She works in the NHS at Wrightington Hospital, Wigan, and also sees patients privately, including at The Manchester Institute of Health & Performance. She offers assessment and rehabilitation programmes to patients following traumatic injuries, surgery and chronic conditions.

Ms Delaney has a specialist interest in sports injuries and she has treated many athletes from professional rugby and football clubs and supported Commonwealth and Olympic athletes during rehabilitation from injury.

She also has an active interest in education and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Salford University and she lectures on the hand module at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Ms Delaney has published extensively on joint replacement in the and presented nationally and internationally. She is a Member of the British Association of Hand Therapists.
