About Dr. Rebecca Jacques

Dr Rebecca Jacques is a British Menopause Society (BMS) Registered Menopause Specialist with 18 years’ experience as an NHS doctor and a longstanding special interest in women’s health. She provides evidence-based, guided care for women experiencing perimenopause, menopause and complex hormonal health concerns, supporting them to make informed decisions and feel empowered in managing their wellbeing.

Dr Jacques founded Time To Pause to create a dedicated space where women are truly heard, supported and given time to prioritise their health. Her approach recognises that hormonal transitions can significantly affect quality of life, work, relationships and family life, and that every woman’s experience is unique. She takes a personalised, holistic approach, whether supporting women with hot flushes, anxiety, premature menopause, symptoms many years post-menopause, or those already using HRT who wish to explore alternative or complementary options. She also works with women who have complex medical or gynaecological histories.

Dr Jacques has a particular interest in the long-term health implications of oestrogen deficiency. Drawing on her background as an NHS GP with additional training in diabetes and metabolic health, she focuses on cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors such as insulin resistance, lipid changes and blood pressure, helping women understand the importance of regular screening to prevent future health complications. She also supports women who have transitioned through menopause and wish to better understand its wider impact on long-term health.

Dr Jacques studied medicine at Warwick Medical School, having previously completed a degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Manchester. Her decision to pursue General Practice was driven by a passion for preventative medicine and meaningful, patient-centred care. Early in her career she developed a strong interest in women’s health and went on to complete additional qualifications, including the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DipFRSH). She is an experienced family planning GP and has been fitting intrauterine coils and contraceptive implants regularly for over 13 years.

Her commitment to menopause care led her to undertake specialist training with the British Menopause Society. After several years of working alongside specialists in a dedicated NHS menopause clinic, she achieved the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care and became a BMS Registered Specialist. She is a member of the British Menopause Society, the International Menopause Society, and the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum, ensuring her practice remains aligned with the latest evidence and clinical guidance.

Dr Jacques was amazing- I got her details from a friend who also went to see Rebecca and spoke very highly of her. Rebecca took the time to listen and suggest a way forward in relation to HRT. I didn’t feel rushed at all. I would highly recommend Rebecca if you need any advice regarding the menopause or HRT.
