Dr Rachel Barratt

Dr Rachel Barratt is a highly skilled Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in reconstructive urology and minimally invasive robotic surgery. With a patient-centred approach, she provides expert care for individuals experiencing complex bladder dysfunction, male and female incontinence, and ureteric injuries. Dr Barratt is dedicated to delivering reassuring, high-quality treatment, utilising both open and advanced robotic surgical techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients. She also collaborates closely within multidisciplinary teams to provide specialised urological support for women dealing with deep infiltrating endometriosis.

Dr Barratt completed her medical training at the University of Nottingham, qualifying with honours in 2011 with a Bachelor of Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. She went on to complete her specialist urology training within the North London Deanery, followed by two prestigious subspeciality clinical fellowships in functional and reconstructive urology, as well as robotic pelvic uro-oncology. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. Dr Barratt maintains active memberships in several prominent professional organisations, including the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the European Association of Urology, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the British Medical Association.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Barratt is deeply committed to medical education, research, and the advancement of urological standards. She regularly teaches and trains Medical Students and Junior Doctors, and she has previously served on the British Association of Urological Surgeons Functional and Reconstructive Urology Committee. Her international contributions include serving as an Associate Member of the European Association of Urology urethral stricture guideline panel and working with the European Society of GenitoUrethral Surgery bladder and ureteric working group. Dr Barratt frequently publishes her research in peer-reviewed journals and is a regular speaker at national and international medical conferences.
