Mr Philip Turner is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in conditions of the knee. He has a special interest in sports injuries, ligament reconstructions, partial and total knee replacement and revision surgery. Mr Turner is Honorary Professor in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Salford. He has been President of the British Orthopaedic Association and is an elected Trustee, Council member and chair of the Professional Standards Committee of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
He has been training programme director, Head of the NW School of Surgery and founding chair of the Confederation of Postgraduate Schools of Surgery for the UK.
He established the Greater Manchester Orthopaedic Alliance and has been Clinical Lead for the restructuring of orthopaedic and trauma services across Greater Manchester.

Philip Turner trained in trauma and orthopaedics in the North West of England having qualifed at the University of Manchester. He undertook fellowships and professional attachments in Europe and the US.
He is highly experienced in all aspects of knee surgery and has undertaken approximately 1500 knee replacements, 300 partial knee replacements, 400 anterior curciate reconstructions, 150 osteotomies (knee realignments) and 2500 other keyhole operations on the knee in the last 10 years, with a total specialist practice extending over 32 years as a consultant.
