Dr Petra Goldsmith

Dr Petra Goldsmith is a highly dedicated General Surgeon and Consultant Transplant Surgeon who provides comprehensive clinical care for patients requiring specialist surgical interventions. She is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred treatment tailored to individual health needs. Working closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams, Dr Goldsmith ensures meticulous pre-operative preparation, precise surgical procedures, and thorough post-operative management, maintaining an approachable and reassuring manner throughout each patient's care journey.

Dr Goldsmith completed her medical degree and foundational clinical training at the University of Cambridge. She subsequently relocated to complete her higher surgical training in General Surgery. Demonstrating a strong commitment to academic and clinical excellence, she earned a PhD in Transplant Immunology from the University of Liverpool, focusing her doctoral research on organ compatibility and antibody monitoring. In addition to her consultant role, she serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer, contributing actively to medical education, clinical research, and the supervision of postgraduate research projects.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of general surgical care alongside sub-specialty expertise in renal transplantation and dialysis access surgery.
