Mr Michael Chadwick is a Consultant General Surgeon and Coloproctologist with experience in open and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgical techniques. He completed higher surgical training in the South West of England and undertook a fellowship in laparoscopic surgery at Frimley Park Hospital.
He provides surgical care for a range of general surgical and colorectal conditions. His practice includes abdominal wall hernia repair (including local anaesthetic hernia repair), gallbladder surgery, and excision of benign skin and soft tissue lesions.
Mr Chadwick has a specialist interest in pelvic floor disorders and proctology, including the assessment and management of symptoms such as rectal pain, bleeding, discharge, faecal incontinence, and altered bowel function. He also manages haemorrhoids and related conditions using techniques such as stapled haemorrhoidopexy (PPH) and radiofrequency ablation (Rafaelo®), as well as surgical management of pilonidal disease including Endoscopic Pilonidal Sinus Treatment (EPSIT).
He has served as Surgical Clinical Lead for the Theatre Patient Safety Group at Whiston Hospital since 2013, with a focus on perioperative safety and surgical quality.
