Dr Nicholas Kennedy

Dr Nicholas Kennedy is a Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides dedicated clinical care for patients experiencing digestive health conditions. He specialises in the investigation, diagnosis, and management of complex gastrointestinal disorders, ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive, patient-centred care tailored to their specific needs. With a strong commitment to evidence-based medicine, Dr Kennedy strives to deliver high-quality treatment plans that improve long-term gut health and enhance overall quality of life.

Dr Kennedy completed his initial undergraduate medical education at the University of Cambridge, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree alongside a Master of Arts (MA Cantab). He subsequently undertook postgraduate clinical training in Adelaide, South Australia, and in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, where he completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focusing on gastrointestinal research. He holds Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the British Society of Gastroenterology Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinical Research Group and actively contributes to international genetics consortia.

In his clinical practice, Dr Kennedy maintains a primary focus on inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. His work emphasises optimising therapeutic strategies, evaluating treatment response, and utilising personalised anti-TNF, biologic, and immunomodulatory therapies to achieve optimal disease remission.
