About Mr Neil Johns
Mr Neil Johns philosophy is to utilise oncoplastic breast surgical techniques to push the boundaries of breast-conserving surgery by being able to excise large areas of the breast which provides the best oncological outcome, and at the same time being able to reshape or rebuild the breast to provide the best aesthetic outcomes. He is one of the few who regularly performs partial breast reconstruction with a fat only flap (chest wall perforator flap) following a large lumpectomy thus maintaining breast shape and avoiding mastectomy in many cases.
Mr Johns completed his Doctorate of Medicine in the field of cancer-associated weight loss at the University of Edinburgh. He is widely published in this field, as well as breast disease, and other disciplines in surgery. He has been a member of faculty at international conferences and has presented his work globally. He has written contributions for peer-reviewed textbooks and is a peer reviewer for a number of journals.
Mr Johns received the coveted Syme Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. This is a prestigious mark of excellence awarded by the College to a Fellow of the College in good standing, on the basis of a submitted thesis (MD or PhD), culminating in the research being published in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.

It was concerning that a lesion was noted but I felt that MrJohns put the risk of this being dangerous into perspective. He suggested that the best equipment is at Spire Harpenden and we agreed to get approval from our insurer in that regard with the procedure to be arranged as soon as possible.
I felt that Mr Johns professionally put me at ease, he was polite and friendly. Mr Johns explained the test to take place as a precaution, this was done immediately, with the results received during the same visit. It was really assuring to have the results straight away and explained very well. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Johns. Thank you.
I would highly recommend Mr Johns for anyone with breast concerns. He has a lovely manner and very clear communication, taking time to explain things to me and manage any questions and concerns that I had which gave me confidence that I was in good hands. I have had two operations conducted by him, both of which went well, and medical professionals who have subsequently examined me have proactively commented on how neat my scars are. I feel lucky that I was referred to his clinic and would highly recommend him to others.
