Dr. Alexander Leeper

Mr Alexander (Sandy) Leeper is a Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon working at James Paget University Hospital in Norfolk, alongside a busy private practice at OneWelbeck and King Edward VII’s Hospital in London. He specialises in the full spectrum of breast disease, offering rapid diagnosis, personalised treatment pathways and the latest oncoplastic surgical techniques. His expertise spans breast-conserving surgery, complex breast reconstruction, genetic risk assessment and the management of both benign and malignant breast conditions.

Mr Leeper is committed to achieving the safest cancer outcomes while preserving or enhancing cosmetic results. He is highly skilled in advanced oncoplastic approaches, including therapeutic mammoplasty, chest wall perforator flaps and modern implant-based reconstruction methods. He has a particular interest in supporting patients with a strong family history of breast cancer, offering comprehensive risk assessment and tailored risk-reduction strategies. 

Appointed as a Consultant Oncoplastic Surgeon in 2021, Mr Leeper completed the prestigious TIG fellowship in London and holds an MD from the University of Edinburgh, where he focused on innovative 3D breast cancer modelling. Alongside his clinical commitments, he plays a leading role in research and innovation. He is the principal clinical investigator for the BEAM study, an ambitious project exploring the relationship between the gut microbiome and breast cancer development, funded by a £250,000 Breast Cancer Now grant.

Mr Leeper is also actively involved in healthcare education, digital transformation and global health initiatives, contributing to the implementation of electronic health records and supporting surgical training programmes in low- and middle-income countries.
