Mr Muhammad Memon

Mr Muhammad Memon is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialist expertise in cataract surgery, uveitis, and medical retina conditions. He is a fully qualified and registered ophthalmic surgeon with extensive clinical, research, and teaching experience.

After completing his medical degree in 2004, Mr Memon developed a strong interest in ophthalmology and clinical research. He has undertaken research roles at leading institutions including Imperial College London and Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he later completed a Medical Retina and Clinical Trials Fellowship.

He also completed a research fellowship in Vision Science and Visual Psychophysics at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, gaining advanced experience in ophthalmic research and visual science.

Mr Memon’s clinical interests include cataract surgery, retinal disease management, and inflammatory eye conditions such as uveitis. He combines specialist clinical knowledge with experience in ophthalmic trials and advanced retinal care.

Alongside his clinical practice, he has contributed significantly to ophthalmology education. He has worked as a facilitator for the MSc Ophthalmology course at University College London and has supported laser surgery training programmes at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He also holds advisory roles, including Senior Medical Advisor at Eye2Gene and Ophthalmology Expert with Image Analysis Group.

He has co-authored numerous scientific publications and presented research at national and international conferences. Beyond his professional work, Mr Memon has contributed to charitable healthcare initiatives, including providing pro bono cataract surgery in Asia and supporting community organisations such as the Patient Welfare Association and Deaf Education and Welfare Association.
