Mr Petros S Andreou

Mr Andreou completed his training in Medicine from the University of Southampton in 1990. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1996. After this, he competed specialist training in glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital as a Fellow in 2001.

Mr. Petros Andreou has been a consultant Ophthalmologist in the Chelmsford area since 2002. He worked for Mid-Essex NHS Trust Hospitals for 15 years where he set up a dedicated glaucoma sub-specialist service and ran high volume cataract operating lists.

More recently, Mr. Andreou has been working solely in the private sector providing consultations for all general ophthalmology patients but specialising in glaucoma and cataract patients. He uses the latest laser and surgical innovations and glaucoma MIGS procedures and uses Premium Toric and Multifocal Implant technologies on cataract patients who wish to be spectacle independent.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Andreou is active in the field of research, and has published over 20 research papers in his field. He is also a keen supervisor and trainer and is involved in the development of the Anglia Ruskin Medical School. He mentors optometrists and ophthalmic nurses training at university for higher diplomas and assists them with their future career and development.
