Ms Sharon Griffin

Ms Sharon Griffin is a highly experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Spire Alexandra Hospital, specialising in comprehensive gynaecological care. Her expertise encompasses the management of menopause, pelvic pain, hormonal imbalances, and menstrual disorders, with a particular focus on addressing heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia). She is also a certified colposcopist, consistently performing colposcopy procedures in accordance with national guidelines.

Ms Griffin graduated from the University of Manchester in 1992 and has a strong background and keen interest in clinical governance and patient safety. She previously held positions as the Governance Lead and Intrapartum Lead at Medway Maritime Hospital. Additionally, she served as the lead clinician for the hospital's colposcopy unit and played a pivotal role in expanding outpatient services to include gynaecological procedures, with a specific emphasis on enhancing care pathways for female patients. Since 2005, Ms Griffin has been providing patient care at Spire Alexandra Hospital.

In addition to her practice in obstetrics and gynaecology, Ms Griffin serves as an educational supervisor for Foundation doctors and is an active member of various professional associations, including the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. She is actively engaged in research, with her work primarily focusing on exploring conservative approaches to managing menstrual dysfunction.
