Mr Will Mason

Mr William Mason is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in the treatment of hand, wrist and elbow disorders. He qualified in Cambridge in 1997 and undertook his general surgical training in Bath, Bristol and Newport after which he enrolled on the Wessex Orthopaedic Training Programme in Southampton. Mr Mason obtained his FRCS in Trauma & Orthopaedics and moved to Sydney where he spent a year as a hand and microsurgery fellow at the world-renowned hand unit at Royal North Shore Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic trauma at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Mr Mason was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2009. He sees private patients at both the Ramsay Winfield Hospital and the Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital.

Mr Mason treats all common hand, wrist and elbow disorders. He has special interests in arthritis, Dupuytren's contracture, tendon disorders, wrist pain, children's hand disorders and the management of spasticity in the upper limb. Mr Mason is particularly passionate about hand injuries and has established a hand trauma clinic in Gloucester. He believes in teamwork and collaborates closely with hand therapists to ensure that his patients receive the best possible treatment before and after surgery.

Mr Mason is actively involved in clinical research and has been the principal investigator of numerous clinical trials. He is also actively involved in the education of junior doctors.
