Very professional and answered all my questions pre and post surgery

Mr Gleeson carried out a left Oxford unicompartmental knee replacement to the medial compartment of my left knee. The operation has been a complete success and Mr Gleeson's attendance to my needs before, during and after surgery has been good. I was walking comfortably after a few weeks and, after physio, I have been able to undertake all the activities I had on my wish list ahead of surgery, culminating in a a week's skiing one year after the operation. Mr Gleeson is a very mannered and polite gentleman, explained my injury in great detail, and what the surgery entailed. On the day of my surgery, he explained everything again and put me at ease. I felt as though I was his only patient, very attentive.

An excellent result - only 2 days in hospital with very good care at Cheltenham hospital. Mr Gleeson described the procedure and I was given clear ideas of the after care needed. The knee is fully functional and free of pain after 11 months. I am playing 18 holes of golf and going to the gym for exercise and pilates classes. I had private physiotherapy and think this should be available on the NHS as it does appear to make a significant difference. I would not hesitate to recommend this procedure.

Mr Gleeson explained the potential risks but also the benefits of having surgery and was very understanding about my desire to play tennis again; something that I thought would be impossible to do. I am not playing again yet but the possibility was not dismissed by Mr Gleeson. This helped me to make the difficult decision to go through ACL surgery again and has motivated me to work hard to rehabilitate my knee.
