Mr Pubudu N J Pathiraja

Mr Pubudu Pathiraja is an experienced consultant Gynaecological Oncologist. He sees patients will the full range of gynaecological cancers, pre-malignant diseases as well as other gynaecological problems. His private practice is based at Nuffield Health the Manor Hospital Oxford.

Mr. Pathiraja came to the UK to complete his higher training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Prior to this, he began his career and education in Sri Lanka; giving him a range of educational and clinical experience early on. He undertakes laparoscopic surgery and colposcopy routinely and is highly experienced in both of these procedures. In addition, he performs complex surgeries for uterine and cervical cancer and started the robotic surgical program for gynaecology oncology in Oxford.

As well as his routine practice, he has a special interest in ultra-radical surgery for ovarian cancer; salvage surgery for recurrent disease and pre cancerous diseases of the vulva and cervix. His skill and experience in gynaecological surgery has enabled him to also be an accomplished educator in his field, teaching medical students at Oxford University.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Pathiraja is active in research and has published numerous works in his field of expertise. He also volunteers in training specialists in developing countries, working to create better patient care and knowledge dissemination internationally.
