Mr Munawar Shah

Mr Munawar Shah is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery. He treats a variety of conditions including arthritis, osteomyelitis, frozen shoulder and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Mr Shah has achieved 3 advanced surgical fellowships in shoulder, elbow, hand and sports injury surgery.

Mr Shah has a passion for medical education. He is in charge of the orthopaedic training programme at the Manor Hospital Walsall and he is also involved in training for undergraduates in the West Midlands. Mr Shah regularly is on the faculty for preparing registrars to take the specialist examination in Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Mr Shah's research interests include the upper limb, rotator cuff injuries and stem cell therapy. He has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Mr Shah uses the latest techniques in his clinical practice and he uses PRP stem cell treatment for the treatment of early arthritis. He is also pioneering the use of needle arthroscopy as a day-case procedure for diagnosing patients who are not suitable for MRI scans.
