He was fortunate to also complete a travelling fellowship overseas including the eminent, John Hopkins University in the USA. In 2015 he returned to the North where he is now settled, practicing in both Yorkshire and Manchester.
He is heavily involved in both medical education and research. Having published accredited articles in the European Journal of Radiology and European Journal of Cancer. He regularly audits his practice to optimise patient care and outcomes.
In his free time Mr Sian enjoys getting outside walking, practicing yoga and playing chess.

My experience with Mr Sian was amazing I went to my appointment needing a lumber decompression i was using a wheelchair and unable to do anything for myself, 5 weeks later thanks to his expertise i walked back into his surgery I have only praise and gratitude thank Mr Sian I have gone from a few steps and a wheelchair to doing 3000 steps a day and i can already do my normal things and lead my normal life and my operation was only 2wks and 6 days ago.
Mr Sian explained the procedure to my satisfaction. Before the operation it was a neck operation to relieve pressure on my upper limbs. It was performed on 24 September 2025 and I recovered quickly. I am at a point of having another operation on my lower back and have total confidence that it will proceed successfully. Stepping Hill ward staff looked after me both before/during/after my procedure. I have praise for their commitment.
Mr Sian, is a wonderful Doctor, he has a very pleasant and caring manner. My visit today was no different than any other meeting I’ve had with him.

I found Mr Sian very professional his explanations of what treatment i needed was excellent. Due to some circumstances he tried to find quicker ways for me to get a resolution for by back issue by visiting other specialists. in the end my operation was carried out by Mr Sian the operation was carried out in Huddersfield which was more beneficial for myself and my family.
When I first came to Doctor Sian, I was in a very bad way with prolapsed discs and chronic pain, as a result this had impacted my mental health to a very dark place. I had lost the ability to live my normal life because of pain and fear. Doctor Sian was the first person to acknowledge my situation properly after years of being treated less well by other Doctors. He explained our options clearly and was always easy to talk to. Over the time I have been seeing him, I have slowly recovered from being in terrible pain, to being in a much better physical state, and my mental health has massively improved. It was because of Doctor Sian that I have been able to have my life back. Thank you Doctor Sian.
