About Mr Arijit Ghosh
Mr. Ghosh is a Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital with a private practice at the Spire Leicester Hospital and the Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital.
Mr. Ghosh specialises in complex knee surgery. He performs knee replacements, partial knee replacements, knee osteotomy, knee ligament surgery including ACL reconstruction surgery and arthroscopic knee surgery.
Mr. Ghosh obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBBS) from the University of Cambridge and Imperial College School of Medicine, London. He completed his Basic Surgical Training in London culminating with Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS). His Higher Surgical Training in Trauma and Orthopaedics was completed in the East Midlands Deanery based in Leicester during which he successfully gained his Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Tr&Orth) in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
Mr. Ghosh has undertaken esteemed Fellowships in Knee surgery at The Royal Derby Hospital and also in Hip & Knee Surgery as the prestigious Stanmore Fellow (Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital London Fellowship).
Mr. Ghosh is heavily involved in research. He has been awarded the degree of MA (Cantab) from the University of Cambridge. He has also been awarded the degree of MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University. Mr. Ghosh also is dedicated to teaching and has been awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education.

I attended the Spire Hospital Leicester for an injection in my right knee. The doctor that carried this out explained the procedure which put me at ease straight away. Someone I know told me how painful this would be but that was not the case. The doctor had to drain the fluid from my knee before the injection. My thanks to the doctor who carried out this procedure for the way it was carried out. If necessary I would certainly have this procedure done again.
I went in thinking I needed a knee replacement do to the excruciating pain in my knee Mr Arijit looked at my knee X-ray and examined my knee He advised that a have a hip X-ray which took place and after examining it informed me that I required a hip replacement not a knee replacement
A very clear way to proceed was discussed with a very professional gentleman.

Appointment with Mr Ghosh at 6 weeks. I had some queries regarding my knee replacement operation. He explained clearly the answers to those questions. Very reassuring appointment.
Overall, a good experience. All procedures explained clearly and concisely.

He is technically an excellent surgeon and can execute complex surgeries with ease. He will see and treat a wide range of knee conditions.
